Desco was founded in 1980 under the name “Viandes Guy Chevalier”. Originally specialized in food distribution for HRI companies and independent stores, our company enjoyed rapid growth leading to the opening of our first poultry processing facility in Boisbriand, Quebec in the early 1990s.
As a testament to its boldness and vision, Desco opened its second plant in 2000 right alongside their existing one. Dedicated solely to delicatessen meats, this plant was the first HACCP-compliant of its kind in the province of Quebec.
Equipped with high-tech systems from the likes of Praxair, Cryovac and NuTek, Desco plants are now among the industry leaders in the processing sector thanks to their vast production capacity. From cooking to packaging, our methods of production, through deep-freezing and storage guarantee a speed of execution without compromising hygiene that is the envy of the entire industry.
